This presentation will explore and compare HTB and PCQ method on RouterOS Bandwidth Management
Patrik Schaub, the founder of FMS Internetservice, has been a MikroTik professional since many years and is a certified trainer since 2007. This year he is giving his fourth presentation in a row at a European MUM and is talking about MikroTik's network monitoring system The Dude. The presentation will cover advanced setups of this excellent software tool and how it integrates in heterogeneous networks, that are not purely MikroTik based. While looking at such real world situations, new and little known features of the Dude are being given special attention. (The speaker is also offering a 2-day Dude training right before the MUM in the conference hotel.)
Comparing quality (sector capacity, delays, packetloss ) of two protocols (802.11 vs nstreme) in real point to multi-point networks.
Graphics, and information on how to get your own IPS, your own AS, and implementation of your BGP network.
MikroTik Router OS Firewall its Features, rules and methodologies that can be used to protect your network from various threats present on the Internet.
Basics of IPv6 networking. Addressing, stateless autoconfiguration and other IPv6 features explained. We will introduce features supported by RouterOS and explain how to build dual-stack network. We will also show how to obtain your own IPv6 prefix in case where there no possibility to get IPv6 connectivity natively.
Live examples of configuration of IPv6 routing protocols. Presentation will cover the features and differences between IPv4 and IPv6 implementations. Lecture focuses on OSPFv3 but we will also explain RIPng and BGP configuration.
RouterOS5 introduces brand new TDMA based wireless protocol Nv2. Presentation covers compatibility, implementation and real world tests.
Presenter: Andis Arins (Mikrotik Certified Trainer; Mikrotik/Microsoft/Cisco certified professional)
Dynamic Routing is widely used by providers and corporations to ensure fast and automatically adaptations in case of topology changes, to provide redundancy, robustness and to allow administrative facilities. However, dynamic routing can be target of intentional and no intentional attacks that can cause a lot of problems, like located connectivity loss, total network disruption, and serious intentional threats like routes hijacking. For fighting against such attacks there are commonly accepted best practices for Internal and External Routing, that one can apply to minimize the risks and consequences. In this presentation we intend to show a conceptual overview of the threats and the best practices that one should adopt on Mikrotik RouterOS, as countermeasures to thwart such attacks. Appropriate routing filters, inner measures and configuration details will be discussed to propose better secure deployments and a real case scenario will be accessed to show the filters and configurations. About the presenter: Wardner Maia, Electronic and Telecommunications Engineer, technical director of MD Brasil IT & Telecom, Mikrotik Certified Trainer, member of board directors of LACNIC, the Internet Address Registry for Latin America and the Caribbean
Currently we have our own system, to manage network, customers and payments. Also we have made integration with hotspot and huawei modem to send smses with tickets.
Bridging to Routed Conversions. Best practices, information, and ideas
Public WiFi hotspots with ID Card (smartcard) authentication. Live demo.
In this presentation I will describe about how the MIMO technology works and important parameters which is involve in a MIMO radio link such as, RX level and importance of RX level of opposite chain, what is the polarity and cross polarization of the antenna ?, what is the port to port isolation of the antenna, what is the VSWR and how this parameters can effects in radio link performance.
The OSPF was designed for approximately 70 routers in one area. We have built a network with more than 250 OSPF routers with an average of 9 5GHz transmitting cards at one point. In this short demonstration, I will be showing what we have come up with in terms of attenuation, bandwidth management and open-source and freeware remote configuration.
How to provide services to the customer without of need to travel on site? How to correct wrong settings and mistakes in network client equipments? How to detect and solve some networking problems? What we can do if the device does not responding? How to solve the problem, if the device responding but we can not login to the device. I believe these questions are important for all of us. MikroTik ROS has some possibilities to help us to make our work easy and more comfortably. Using of the presented MikroTik services in some cases seem maybe atypically, but they solve the problems and get the correct results quickly, without traveling anywhere.
How to connect endpoints with dynamic addresses via VPN. Probably the best use-case is connecting 2 or more (probably xDSL) home-networks via the Internet to be one virtual LAN.
