RouterOS Quickset, and Tips and Tricks Workshop

This workshop will provide overview of the newest feature RouterOS Quikset that configures powerful MikroTik RouterOS within few clicks, show different modification optipons for Webfig (web-based) interface and cover different useful examples of RouterOS installation and implementation in massive networks.

RouterOS - the only solution

- why we use RouterOS - how RouterOS changed the way of networking - what features we need in ROS to be the best solution (DOCSIS, FTTx etc)

MikroTik RouterOS as a PIM router

We will present the principles of multicast routing. The presentation focused on PIM-SM routing protocol and some other multicast related topics.

Switch Chip, Bypass and Co. - Using advanced RouterBOARD Hardware Features

Patrik Schaub, the founder of FMS Internetservice, has been a MikroTik professional for many years and is a certified trainer since 2007. This year he is giving his fifth MUM presentation, wich is covering advanced RouterBOARD hardware features like the switch chip or the ethernet bypass.

OSPF on Wireless - with a twist

It is well known that wireless links can cause problems with dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF. This presentation demonstrates what can wrong, the reasons why and what to do to fix it. Or does it?!

IPV6 Security - Threats and countermeasures

The world is running out of IPV4 addresses and IPV6 adoption will increase exponentially in the next months.Unfortunately in terms of security, the new protocol was born without a tight orientation to security and new challenges will take place with the adoption of IPV6. Operators should be aware of such risks and capable to adopt efficient countermeasures. This presentation will conceptually expose the possible breaches on a IPV6 infrastucture, and the tools provided by Mikrotik RouterOS to avoid such risks. About the presenter: Wardner Maia, Electronic and Telecommunications Engineer, technical director of MD Brasil IT & Telecom, Mikrotik Certified Trainer since 2007, member of board directors of LACNIC, the Internet Address Registry for Latin America and the Caribbean.

Wireless/ Nv2 workshop

This 90-minutes tutorial covers most of the new RouterOS wireless features and possible setups. Workshop will cover different wireless configurations and troubleshooting options

Load Balancing workshop

This 1.5 hour tutorial will cover all situations involving load balancing and failover. This workshop will cover such topics as ECMP, load balancing with masquerade, mangle, PCC, policy routing, MLPPP, Traffic Engineering. Workshop will include best practice examples with explanations and will cover the most popular misconceptions and mistakes.

Why our link performance is not Good ?

Following my previous presentations I will describe about some primary elements witch directly effects in our wireless link performance such as jumpers and pigtails, antenna parameters and tunings, radio configurations and some tips to improve the link performance.

High availability network services using MikroTik RouterOS

Some services on your network are crucial and it may be really a small disaster if they are not running. This presentation will show you several techniques how to make sure your critical services like DNS or RADIUS are running and reachable (or at least do the best for it).

Web skins, What are they and how the use them?

Pawel Cieplinski will present one of latest features of RouterOS that will allow create a customized user interfaces for diffrent purposes. Presentation will explain what are skins and show instructions how to make them

Access Point Redundancy, Part 2

Thanks to user feedback from the MUM USA 2011 in Las Vegas, this presentation will cover advanced setup for implementing Access Point Redundancy using RouterOS. Lorenzo Busatti, technical director of Linkwave WISP, has been an ISP since 1997 and he is a Mikrotik Certified Trainer.

RADIUS - make life easier

If you have 1 or 5 MikroTik routers, your work is easy. But as the number grows, updating lists of RouterOS accounts, wireless access lists and DHCP/PPP/hotspot users on each router separately can be annoying. RADIUS is the solution! The presentation will show how it works, and give few examples, from simple 'having one shared list of accounts for every MikroTik device' to 'creating an ISP system, where each customer is autenticated by MAC address, and using individual password is able to dynamically change the MAC address and other parameters of his service'. There will be a demonstration system running during the presentation, and each participant will be able to connect and check.
