Speaker Profiles and Presentation Abstracts

TOP 10 RouterOS configuration mistakes

This presentation explores TOP 10 RouterOS configuration mistakes observed in more than 10 years in Andis Arins RouterOS experience.

Managed MikroTik Solutions for Home Networks

MikroTik products offer an excellent solution for the design and implementation of managed home wireless networks, an added value service. The ability to do extensive diagnostics remotely reduces technical support costs and reduces the need for truck rolls. Advanced features provide security, bandwidth control, remote access and monitoring.

IPV6 ond OSPFv3 on Mikrotik

I'd like to briefly explain how does Mikrotik RouterOS handles IPv some configuration steps and a basic description and sample configuration of OSPFv3 single area.

Mikrotik real world tips

Tips and tricks for everyday uses of Mikrotik in various environments.

VoIP problems and how to correct them

Common VoIP problems, How to detect them, correct them and avoid them

CAPsMAN workshop

Roaming based configuration

The mAP and the mAP lite: The wireless swiss knife always in your pocket

The incredible power of the smallest MikroTik access point: the tool to have always in your pocket

High Availability Methods with Mikrotik

Various HA schemes you can use to boost up time in your network.

Web filter using public DNS service

How to enable a web filter service on Mikrotik using cloud based hosted DNS

Utilizing the Switching Functions of the Cloud Router Switch

The MikroTik Cloud Router Switch series are highly integrated switches with high performance MIPS CPU and feature-rich packet processors. The CRS switches can be designed into various Ethernet applications including unmanaged switch, Layer 2 managed switch, carrier switch and wireless/wired unified packet processing. Using the switch functions is not as intuitive as creating bridges, so the switch capabilities are often overlooked and not utilized. In this presentation I will cover some basic, common configurations that can easily be created with the CRS to improve the efficiency, speed and quality of your wired network

Scripting for fun and $profit

A demonstration based presentation on how to get started with RouterOS scripting, why you should learn it and what you can do with it.

Protecting the edge of your network with uRPF and ST/RTBH

Protecting the edge of your network by using unicast reverse path filtering and source triggered real time black holes. This presentation will discuss the critical importance of preventing source spoofed packets from leaving your network, and how to use BGP to drop packets entering your network based on source IP address. Both methods make use of RFC 3704 is part of BCP 38. The talk will describe several real world cases / examples and provide template configuration samples. Mikrotik users will come away with a solid knowledge of how to better protect the borders of their networks using Mikrotik networking equipment.
