Speaker Profiles and Presentation Abstracts

Multi-WAN auto notification for WAN's status updates

Use of different MirkroTik tools to monitor ISP's status (down/up) and send an email notification to Network guys for proper action.

Mikrotik as an In-line shaper

Synopsis:
A client with large network is in need of bandwidth management to their existing high-end network infrastructure, installing a Mikrotik device to replace the existing “core router” is not an option as it can break the setup or could lose some of the functionalities of their own core router.

The solution is to make Mikrotik as a transparent in-line bandwidth controller with some level functionalities of an UTM.

Attaching the Mikrotik does not require any configuration adjustment to the existing network, it can be installed at the WAN edge or at the LAN edge.

Mikrotik Long Range (OffGrid) Wireless MU-MIMO Full Duplex PTP With failover

The Situation: the Philippines is covered by many islands, electricity is the number 1 issue on remote areas and most of the major isp providers in the country only have limited reach to their copper/fiber network services.

The Solution: is to deploy a offgrid solar Site, bundled with the mikrotik board and new mikrotik ac series cards and a multiple high Gain ptp antenna for diversity and failover, and some Routing configuration applied for the wireless fail over. In order to provide high speed connectivity to remote Far areas. (Actual Deployed case study will be presented )

BGP vs OSPF

In this presentation, i will do a presentation about the differences between 2 famous routing protocols: BGP and OSPF.
This knowledge is important when you want to scale up your network and to be part of internet.

Auto Power Cycling a Modem with Mikrotik

In the Philippines we deal with crappy ISP modems that usually needs to be restarted most of the time.

This presentation will show how we managed to physically hack the POE out to switch on and off the ISP modem automatically.

This was really helpful to us when no one is in the office that can manually restart the hardware.

MikroTik new 60GHz implementation and its comparison with other existing MikroTik wireless solutions LIVE DEMO!!!

Wireless Wire provides Gigabit wire speed over wireless network. New Wireless Wire product line provides low cost, high speed wireless links for shorter distances. In this presentation we will see how 60GHz devices could be used in different usage scenarios, we will look into link performance testing and troubleshoot common configuration and placement mistakes. We will also talk about the pros and cons of different frequency selection for long range wireless links. At the end of the presentation there will be a demo of the Wireless Wire kit performance.

DHCP Server Lease as a Tool for Network Administration

A Simple Guide for Network Administrators to use the DHCP Server Lease to Monitor, Add Rate Limit and Address Listing to the DHCP Client.

MikroTik SwitchOS Basic VLAN Tagging and Trunk

Basic VLAN configuration, Port Grouping, Trunk, Tagging, isolation on RB260GSP & CSS326.

Automated Backup and Deployment of RSC Script via FTP (Main Router)

For large size network its a must to have a way to deploy a specific update or configuration on the remote sites like branch-to-branch or Main Branch to Multi Branch.

This can help Network Engineers with Large Network to deploy a script in all routers in a specific time.

Multiple CAP/sites with one CAPsMAN

The topic is all about centrally managed/provisioned multiple mikrotik AP via layer3 connection thru VPN.
