Speaker Profiles and Presentation Abstracts

Wardner Maia, MD Brasil (Brazil) Wireless Mesh Networks have been widely used for providing citywide broadband service. There are several Companies in the market offering their solutions, in most case proprietary, to attend the growing demand. Mikrotik RouterOS offers a lot of options for Wireless Mesh Networks deployments that can be configured in a proprietary mode for a robust performance or according to standards, allowing the use Mikrotik together of commodity equipment. The main goal of the presentation is to give an overview of the Mesh Networks solutions in the market, the basic guidelines to implement Mesh with Mikrotik RouterOS and to report experiences of practical implementations.[top]
Sergio Souza (Brazil) The purpose of the presentation is to clarify what is QoS - Quality of Service in the environment of a Computer Network managed by a Mikrotik RouterOS Gateway. The presentation deals with the system configuration, presenting a global vision in a technical and managerial point of view of this important concept that has fundamental importance for data and multimedia transmission. It will be showed in a generic and global way, how IT administrators should see, plan and implement QoS on their Networks as well the protocols, techniques and trends. The presentation will cover QoS for traditional and Wireless networks with emphasis in VoIP.

[top]
