Speaker Profiles and Presentation Abstracts

EOIP fun: Two Handy Uses for Ethernet over IP Tunnel

Mike Everest of DuxTel Australia, demonstrates two real world applications for Ethernet over IP - connect to a remote WiFI network as if you are there, and bonding of multiple independent internet uplinks (even ADSL by different ISPS!) for aggregated throughput. ONLY WITH MIKROTIK!

CCR Tuning in Infrastructure Use

Mikrotik's CCR models using the Tilera processor bring a high performance CPU to the RouterOS Platform. While an amazing leap forward in the processing power available to us ROS 6.X still has some bottlenecks for performance especially when coming from an X86 ROS history. This presentation will cover performance / configuration tweaking as used day to day in my infrastructure networks and will hopefully be a guide to users making the change to this new platform.

MikroTik in a City FreeNet Application

Case study of Horsham Free WiFi project for Horsham Rural City Council, built using 100% MikroTik hardware platform!

Quality of service in wireless service provider networks

Do you run QoS in your network? This presentation explores why you might want to consider running QoS, how to classify traffic in RouterOS and how to apply the theory to your wireless network for real results.

Scaling fixed wireless networks with MikroTik

A look at some of the issues and solutions in scaling a MikroTik fixed wireless network to thousands of customers.

The evolution of an alternative broadband ecosystem

After 1000's of km & 5 months on the road, DD.A have a picture of most of NZ's WISP community, how they evolved, the needs they satisfy and the challenges they face. A common factor in all their success - MikroTik!
